Sue Shabel Brix

After attending DVC for two years, I started working full time until our move to Redding (1974).  My husband (Randy – married in 1973) was offered a teaching job in Burney, CA.  I got a job at Shasta College where I have worked for 32 years as an Administrative Assistant, and am now the Curriculum Specialist.  I spent 20+ years as the CSEA Union President.  Randy is retiring from 34 years of education as Associate Superintendent of the Shasta Union High School District.  I will probably work 1-2 more years.

My children are Ryan, 33 – works for Chevron and just spent 3-1/2 years in Kazakhstan and is currently in Chengdu, China (was there for 10 days when the big earthquake hit!!).  He owns a house in Pleasant Hill when he’s home.  Stacy, 31 – works as a 9th grade Health teacher at Monte Vista and San Ramon high schools in Danville.  She could be teaching some of your kids!!  She lives in Walnut Creek.  We are waiting for marriages and grandkids!!

We love living in Redding – Lake Shasta is 15 minutes away and snow skiing is 60 minutes away.  I recently received my PADI Scuba Diving Certification and am looking forward to doing more diving.  My kids and nephew all moved back to where we grew up, so we come back and visit often.

Looking forward to seeing everyone!!
